Yom Kippur 2021

Today New Bridge learners had an assembly telling them about the Jewish festival of Yom Kippur. This festival is perceived as the holiest day of the year in Judaism and this year starts on the 15th September 2021.

The festival takes place just over a week after the Jewish new year and the festival is commemorated with a day-long fast.

The aim of the fast is to encourage Jewish people to reflect on their past year, repent for any wrong doings and wish for a happy and healthy year ahead.

Group 3 learners enjoyed learning about this festival and reflected upon their own experience of the last year. We then wrote little thank you notes to people who have helped us over this past year to join in the Yom Kippur celebrations of self-reflection and appreciation.
