Sensory Science!
During Friday rewards this week, our super scientists were able to use luminous pigments and powders to create glow in the dark sensory bottles!
Anything that glows in dark is known as phosphorescent or photo luminescent. Our learners used a phosphor pigmented chemical called Strontium Aluminate to make a phosphorescent liquid. When charged in the light, the pigment will then make the liquidglow in the dark.
Learners were surprised at how bright and long lasting the glow was! Keaton explains “I mixed the powder into water and if you go somewhere really dark it glows. I have called mine magic water!”
