Speaking, Listening and all things in Between

This week in the Acorn Centre, our Key Stage 4 learners have been practising their speaking and listening abilities for their Functional Skills exam. This week’s topic was a debate on whether it is good to listen to music while studying or working.

We are very proud of how our learners were able to express their opinions, with supporting evidence, and contribute to a group discussion. A vital part of their success was learning about the importance of body language, eye contact and listening skills. They learnt that speaking and listening is about more than just the words you use.
